Table Top Gamers: Get Your Game On!
Ok, so I was working on Table Top Gamers 2.0 when my sweet laptop exploded...so needless to say, I am going to not be able to work on the new website until I get a new computer...which is in the works. Hopefully soon. We'll have a much cooler site soon enough...just stick with this old and busted one for a little while longer!
Well the contest is finnaly over, and we have a new TTG Chapter! Sweet! Check it out on the forums and let us know what you think! Now we set our eyes on something else. Origins! Stay tuned to the forums for more information about what we plan on doing for Origins! It's going to be awesome!
So, the gang at Table Top Gamers (TTG) decided it’s time for us to get back into the most popular Science Fiction miniatures game on the market, Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 (40K.) Now the biggest problem with all this is that we at TTG love our custom armies, with special fluff and uniqueness to it. What better way to get into the game than creating a completely custom chapter for Space Marines? So we decided that something “official” for TTG needed to be created using our colors. What is the number one problem with all this? TIME! That’s right, the time it takes to create all that awesome fluff, all that awesome color scheme..Etc, etc…
So, it was decided to create the first official Table Top Gamers Contest.
That’s right…a free Contest! so, without too much rambling... TTG is proud to present...
TTG’s “Design a Space Marine Chapter/Chaos Space Marine Legion” Contest!
The goal of this contest is to create either a Space Marine Chapter or a Chaos Space Marine Legion for the Warhammer 40K Universe. That’s right! We are even letting you, the TTG member, chose either a Space Marine Chapter, or a Chaos Legion!
There are two awards for the Contest: a paint scheme award and a background/story/fluff award. The first part is the story fluff of the Chapter or Legion. Every good custom chapter needs some awesome fluff…and the TTG Chapter is no exception. The fluff needs to fit into the 40K universe, and needs to be believable. You never know when the TTG chapter will make an appearance at a GT or major tournament. Also, original work is pretty important. We want our Chapter or Legion to be unique, and something people worked on…not copied from something else. That being said, pretty much everything else is free game.
The second award is something a little stricter…the Chapter/Legion’s paint Scheme. Because this is going to be the official Table Top Gamers’ Army, we would like to use the TTG colors: Grey, Red, and Black. Other colors can be used, but the three primaries need to be Grey, Red, and Black.
Prizes: The winner of each category will receive one unit box for Warhammer 40K. This unit box can be for any faction, and can be whatever the winner wants with a retail value of fifty US dollars or less. TTG will also cover shipping and insurance. TTG will ship overseas, but the winner is responsible for any extra charges (tariff, taxes, etc) and any special requirements for shipment to said country.
Judging: Judging will be handled like many of today’s popular reality TV shows. The TTG Staff will rate the entries and the registered members of TTG will also rate the entries. The Judge’s score will make up of 50% of the score, and the members will make up the other 50%. The combined score will be tallied and that will be the total overall score for each entry. At the end of the first week of scoring, the bottom 50% of the entries will be removed, and scoring will start over. At the end of the second week, the top 25% of the remaining entries will move on to the final round. In that final round, the top story entry and the top color scheme entry will be selected as our winners.
This is your opportunity to create a Chapter/Legion without doing any of the hard work (customizing models…painting, buying models, etc…etc…)
Entry Submissions: So, how do you submit your entry? Well, for better tracking of users and their entries, we ask that contestants post their entries in the “a Space Marine Chapter/Chaos Space Marine Legion” forum located in the “TTG Contest” section of the forums. Background should be posted directly into the forums as a post. Color Schemes need to be posted as images, and TTG is willing to host the images if needed. The Color Scheme entry does not have to match the faction selected via Background. Here is the link to the forum for up to the minute rules and questions: Question and answer forum.
Post your entries here: Entry forum.
So, SinisterCon is this weekend. Fort Wayne Indy. The Hottie, Bandar, Patches, and myself are driving up tonight and it looks like I will be running Battlestations tonight, and WEGS tomorrow at 2pm and 6pm. It is going to be a sweet con, and TTG's first Co-sponsorship. We'll see how it goes! Interested in going? Check it out in our "Events" section, in the forums, or at the SinisterCon website You better be there!
Sorry the forums/site was down over the weekend. TTG did some system updates, and it seemed like we had some disagreement between the Forums and the database. Of course I didn't know that was the problem, so it took a little while to iron out the issues. I apologize for the down time, but everything seems good now. If you still experience some problems, email me or get on the forums and post it. Thanks!
Today marks the dawn of a new age for the Table Top Gamer! Before now, the Gamer would have to wander aimlessly from one end of the internet to the other, looking for others that share a common interest! Now, TTG brings to you an online community of Gamers, Stores, and Manufacturers aimed at one goal: Table Top Gaming!
Table Top Gamers (or TTG) is an online community of gamers, game stores, and game manufacturers looking to create the place for gaming on the internet. We plan on bringing stores together with gamers in their area, and allow a venue for manufacturers to hear the voice of the gamer.
We are currently still building the website, but we invite you to head over to our forums and start posting. The mission of TTG is to bring the community together, but we cannot do it alone. So please, take a minute and join the forums, introduce yourself, and start posting about your favorite games!
